A Thailand student visa, officially called the Non-Immigrant ED Visa, is issued to foreigners who want to study in Thailand at a recognized institution, such as a university, language school, or training center. To apply, students must first receive an admission letter or approval document from the school, then submit it along with their passport, visa application form, photos, and sometimes financial proof to the Thai embassy or consulate in their home country.
The initial visa is usually valid for 90 days, after which students can extend it inside Thailand for up to one year at a time, depending on their program. During their stay, students are required to report their address to immigration every 90 days. Working is generally not allowed under a student visa unless special permission is granted. This visa is ideal for international students who want to pursue higher education, language courses, or cultural studies in Thailand.
Duration of stay: 4 years (University) + 1 years (after graduation)
